Family Fun Day

So it's been a crazy summer around here...but definitely not boring. :)

Since Clayton's 1st birthday is this Saturday, Gracelynn and I got to work to get the cake ready for Friday night's party at "Pappa and Gamma's" house. As you can see, she was a great help.

Clayton's new nickname is Evil Knievel 2. There is nothing he doesn't try to climb including ladders, shelving, etc. Needless to say, blogging doesn't happen very often right now. :)

Mondays are "Family Fun" days at the Children's Museum in Bettendorf, so we packed up the kids for the afternoon and hung out there. They loved it. There's a huge "house" section complete with rooms and accessories that Gracelynn gravitated to.

And Clayton, being our more musically minded at the moment, was totally enthralled with the music section!

The museum was packed with little stations to work on different concepts. The mirrors were pretty fascinating to Gracelynn, but both the kids agreed the building blocks were the bomb! Lol.

Clayton was petering out after a while...so no smiles here. :(

After we'd exhausted all the inside "toys" we went outside and discovered there's a water exploration area complete with buckets, running water, aprons, and all kinds of wow-toys for the kids.

Gracelynn did her own thing, but Clayton, after watching the "big kids" jumped right in and found a favorite station that he didn't move from until we left. He got pretty attached to his little shovel too...

Finally, it was time to go and we hit Burger King for a quick snack to fill up the natives before we started our drive home...

Gracelynn didn't even make it to her first bite of chicken nuggets. :)
