A Walk with the Kiddos

Just a quick photo :)

Just about every morning, the three of us head outside for a nice brisk walk - Gracelynn loves sitting next to her little brother. She says his name now...only it sounds very similar to "piglet" - which - considering his eating habits, is probably very fitting!

Hope you all enjoy your day as much as these two seem to!

2 Week Check-Up

Hello Again!

Blogging has taken a backseat this past week - but I have updates and photos for you all. :) So I'm officially flying solo this week as a mom of two. Gracelynn skipped a nap this morning, so I'll admit today was a bit exhausting, but tomorrow is Saturday and Heath is home!

Last Friday we had a wonderful visit from Heath's grandparents. Gracelynn enjoyed the extra attention and Clayton just slept through most of the visit. :)

Daddy enjoying some cuddle-time

Below is Gracelynn hanging out with her "babies". The one on her left was a gift from her great-grandparents - that thing is LIFE size and sometimes I have to look twice!

Here are the Kelley kids enjoying some summer weather at the park...Gracelynn loves having a "live" baby. I just have to watch her like a hawk to make sure she doesn't treat her new brother like her dolls!

Big sister also enjoys helping feed Clayton - only she's a bit distracted by an episode of Veggie Tales here. Lol.

Gracelynn loves holding her brother (I'll admit I'll be relieved when Clayton can hold his own head...it's a bit scary with her!).

This is a very typical pose now. Gracelynn "gives kisses" all day long and anytime Clayton is on the floor - she is right there with him. Yet again, we have to watch pretty closely that she doesn't lay on him. Yikes!

G'ma, Dad, and Daughter :)

G'ma's new sock monkey hat...modeled by Gracelynn!
(Yes, I crocheted a Harley themed sock monkey hat...it's awesome!)

Here are a few pictures from today:
Gracelynn sporting her glitzy gift from Great Grandma Snitker. :)

And Clayton...sporting his newly acquired baby fat.

So! Now for Clayton's 2 week update...
Birth weight: 7lbs 14oz
Week 1: 8lbs 3oz
Week 2: 9lbs!!!!!

I know! The doctor was amazed! He said breastfed babies are doing well to regain their birth weight by two weeks...he said other than the fact that our son likes to overeat and spit-up suddenly because of his gluttony...we have a very, very healthy little boy. :)

Just look at these round cheeks! He's really been filling out.

He's also getting very long these days. He's almost 2" longer than his birth length. Let's hope he slows down or I'm going to run out of clothes! Haha.

Well, that's all I have for now. Gracelynn is in bed, Clayton is snoozing on the floor, and Heath and I are relaxing to an old episode of Bewitched. My house may be messy...but at least right now it's quiet!

Blessings all!

Big Sister

Before I update you all on another day survived as a mom of two...
Heath and I thought it'd be fun to share some of our local news with you: so - regardless of your political affiliation or preference - we figured it's not every day the President of the United States drives by your house to buy ice cream!

Lol - honest! Yesterday, we saw a bunch of local then state police cars drive by the house. We figured it was an accident at the intersection or something and then all of the sudden, there were secret service men ordering our poor neighbor (who was out biking) to "Halt" and "Stay right there" as this huge (and I mean huge) black camper-like thing drives by...followed by more men in bullet-proof vests. No kidding, the whole entourage drove right past the house after Obama had ordered ice cream at the shop just across the block.

Well, thought that was cool and worth sharing...

Here is the real sweet thing worth sharing :)
Gracelynn held her new baby brother by "herself" for the first time this morning. She sure enjoyed it.

Of course, we probably need to practice the "don't touch his eyes" part...

What a wonderful big sister. :)

Today was my mother's last day holding down the Kelley fort. I have to admit, I'm not sure how I'll do keeping up my own house without help...we'll see how tomorrow goes!

Tonight, Clayton had his first "tummy time". I took a video for fun.

Still awake and going strong...

A hint of a smile?

Good night to all! This tired mommy is off to bed.

Clayton Heath Kelley

Hi Everyone!

I know many of you have been anxiously watching our blog and waiting patiently for an update. :) Believe it or not, these past couple of nights, Clayton has only gotten me up twice! Lol, of course, that means in bed around 10:30ish - up twice - and then awake for the day around 6:30AM. But actually, that's really quite good and I'm feeling pretty spry!

Okay - so officially, meet the newest addition to our family:

Clayton Heath Kelley
August 11, 2011
Born 5:53 PM
7lbs 14 oz.
19.5"

Below is a slideshow of the past few days' pictures!

And for fun!
Here's a short video of Clayton's first morning. :)

Well, this tired mommy needs to finish her supper and get a quick nap in before tonight. I'll do my best to get some more current pictures from this week. :)

Thanks for the prayers and well wishes!
