The Green Giant

Hello again!

I'm afraid I've been feeling a bit guilty lately about my lack of posts, so you may go on overload here soon. :) Regardless, here are a few fun photos I took tonight...just before those darn camera batteries gave out...again.

Our jolly green giant eating his favorite meal of choice:
green beans

Not only has he been snarfing down the beans, but we've discovered he definitely likes cake and pizza. (Don't ask us how we figured that one out :)

When faced with a camera, our beautiful little girl turns comedian - in case you haven't noticed!

Inevitably, Clayton has to be up where the action is...which usually puts him right next to his sister.

This is a very typical "pose". Clayton crawling over top his sister to get where he's going. Follow Gracelynn with a whiny description of whatever body part he smashed. "Owwwey, my neck hurts..." etc.

Little tough guy these days. :)

Another squabble over who is in control of the hammer...

And Heath and I were finally able to call it a night!
Whew....

Fun thing happened today -
so while I was out taking some much needed alone time (which meant a visit to Subway for a Dt. Coke and a cookie), I came across 6 huge flats of annual flowers with a sign that read "Free Annuals". I didn't even believe it, so I went inside and turns out, the floral shop didn't want to take care of them anymore so they wanted to get rid of them!

Lol - quick as a wink, I called a friend (after I'd removed the free sign) and we loaded up the flowers and brought them home. The kids and I spent the rest of the afternoon potting flowers!

Okay, maybe Clayton played in the dirt, Gracelynn organized the flowers - "I help Mommy" - and I got to pot all afternoon.

Several hours later, I now have two hanging baskets, two huge tubs along our walkway, FIVE pots filled with flowers...and a really big mess to clean up tomorrow. :)

Ah well. Who cares about the mess. The flowers totally made my day!

Life in the Fast Lane

Wow - where to start?

I've been gone so long from the blogging world even blogger has changed its look! I have no excuse except to plead insanity these days. :)

Nah. Not literally. Just keeping busy while I (attempt to) keep up with the kiddos. Now that Heath is finished with school, our schedule is totally out the window. Life consists of making it from one nap to the next - and I do mean that one literally. :)

Since I've been so lax in updating you all, I managed to take a few pictures tonight. May I add that I need new camera batteries? Darn things keep "recharging" and then dying after a few minutes - so I guess I just quit taking pictures for a month or two. Shameful - I know.

Potty training just kind of happened by itself and let me say this: one child in diapers feels great! "I not potty on the bed, that's yucky" is something I hear almost every night. Yeah, you heard right: she hates diapers now. Won't even wear them at night, but since she rarely wets at night (instead, wakes me up around 2:00am once in a while to say "Mommy, I go potty now") we don't mind and even encourage it.

Anyway, here's big sister with her hands full of black beans (we had Mexican tonight)...

Caught you!

Isn't she so big now? All she wants to do is play outside, play in her pool, play in the sandpile...anything to keep from coming in the house. Not even food entices her! Okay, maybe ice cream cones work, but those aren't necessarily on the good end of the food pyramid!

Clayton, on the other hand, spends his time eating. That and chasing after Gracelynn. It's a hoot! "Get her, Clayton. Get her!" Poor big sister - we goad him into chasing her and they both love it. May I add though it seems to have improved Clayton's crawling speed by a lot. The kid is fast now!

Still bald. We know. At least there's fuzz now. :)

Our little guy is cruising furniture, mastering the walk-behind toys, and refuses to eat from a spoon (must be a man-thing...has to feed himself and it is slow going).

Let's see - what else?

HUGE fan of ice cream. I know. Bad parenting. Oh well.
Loves GRASS! Can't get enough of crawling outside - and now he's discovered the sandpile. So far we've managed to keep him from eating too much of it.
Our boy is also every bit of a fighter as he is a lover. :) One minute he's demanding to be held, touched, or at least loved on...the next? Whomping his big sister for a toy. Unfortunately, our days of Gracelynn being the victim are over - she has learned to retaliate. :(

Well, as you can see, he's none the worse for the wear.

That's all the updates I can manage for now. :) Hopefully, I'll not let this much time elapse again. You'd think with this much chasing I'd be in good shape...

Good-bye for now!
